Music Runs in the Family

My son’s 9th birthday is fast approaching. It will be in March, but this early, the husband and I are already thinking of what to give him. He loves doing a lot of things and listening to music and singing is among them. He has shown interest in playing the guitar too when he saw my husband playing his.

And when my son saw a display of drum sets at the mall, he really got interested. It would be nice to introduce him to the world of music this early since he is still young. So, me and my husband are thinking about getting him a mapex pro m drum set on his birthday. We still haven’t decided totally because we know he needs to show a true interest first. So maybe putting him into music classes would be the first thing to do.

Mini Cheesecakes

This is another dessert that we had on Christmas Eve that was prepared by my SIL. My husband loves cheesecakes so he really munched on this one. I am not really crazy about cheesecakes, but I did have a bite. Cheesecakes are delicious, no doubt, but I find them so sweet for me. I am a sweets person, I know, but these were simply too sweet for me.

His Coin is Old, But He’s Not an Antique; Yet

I feel so hungry right now that when I looked at the personalized coin in front of me, it seemed to look like a cookie. LOL. It is my husband’s coin that he bought when he was still in school all those years ago. I think it could be considered an antique coin now, but it still looks nice.

I do remember seeing it on our dresser and looking at it now, I am wondering how come it got here on the computer table. The little one probably played with it again like he’s been known to do. He’s got this fondness of playing with coins. He’s probably going to be a collector one day.

Don’t Snooze and Lose; Be Prepared

Making sure that everything is backed up is one of the many things that we should prioritize if losing files in our personal computer is the last thing that we want to happen to us. Losing files can really happen because we do know that computers are subject to crashing at any given time, and perhaps at the most unexpected time. That would be a pain in the neck, for certain.

Good thing these days, because of the latest innovations, there are a lot of backup services that we can choose from to protect us from such disasters. As many as they are, it can be difficult to choose which one to trust. But as always, we can read reviews and see which one appeals, or better yet, is the best among the rest. There are online backup reviews that you can read and find out which one suits you best. That is the easiest way to do it, I believe, in deciding which one to grab.

Reading reviews are always what I do whenever I don’t know what is giving people the satisfaction that they need when it comes to products and services. And that goes for just about anything. Try it yourself.

Chips and Dips

These are the kinds of dessert that I never got to experience until I got here in the U.S. I am really not a chips or crackers person, but this is something that I can't resist because of the dip and the cheese spread. These desserts were some of the many delicious foods that my SIL prepared on Christmas Eve.

Crackers and cheese with apple bits. My 8-year-old son enjoyed this a lot.

Chips and spinach dip. I so love this dip. It was so delish! Now I know why Popeye loves spinach. Teehee.

Don’t Lose Your Windows to the World

Important files, documents and even memorable moments captured on photos are just some of the things that are downloaded in our personal computers. All of those things are important, but if we get unlucky, we can lose them all in an instant. It would be totally a disaster, a big dilemma and definitely heartbreaking, no doubt.

But if you’re wise enough, you can actually prevent that from happening. Prevention is always better than a cure, isn’t it? Though I am not certain if there is a cure to losing the files from our computer. As I’ve heard, once you lose them, there is no chance of retrieving them back. But I might be wrong.

I have all my files in my personal computer saved on CDs, but you can choose to do the most sought after backup windows. It is probably the easiest to use. But the choice is yours. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you have your files copied just in case your personal computer has problems in the future. That is not impossible to happen and I believe you don’t want that to happen to you, do you? So it's better be to be safe than sorry.

He Was Really Rockin’ and Rollin’ While Cookin'

My husband is such a caring man. He will prepare meals for us every now and then even though I don’t want him to because I know he works hard for us. I know that as a wife, it’s my role to prepare the food since he’s the one who puts it there. But he can be stubborn. LOL. He will insist and what else can I do but give in to his whims.

He prepared our dinner last night while listening to his fave artist, Linkin Park, using his wireless headphones and CD player.  That was a lovely and amusing sight to see. Yes, it was, and he put a smile on my face. What a sweet man I’ve got! (“,)

Christmas Cookies

I really found the cookies below so cute because they are shaped as different Christmas ornaments. My SIL prepared them on Christmas Eve last year.

Snowman, Christmas tree, snowflake, gingerbread were just some of the shapes.

There's the snowflake.

There was a cookie shaped into a bone too. Ain't that cute?

I Can Read His Mind

My husband knows that an ipod touch 32GB is on my wish list, but I never thought he was thinking of giving me one until his sudden decision of going to Best Buy last weekend. With our First Wedding Anniversary coming next month, I had this feeling he is thinking of that as a gift. More so when he asked me to show him the gadget. He’d never seen one until I showed him that day. Well, he’s not into the latest gadgets, you know.

But he never really confirmed that I will get it on our anniversary. Well, if I don’t, it doesn’t really matter because there are still a lot of special occasions that we are going to celebrate. If I don’t get it next month, well, perhaps it will happen on my birthday. Teehee.

I Can’t Wait to be On the Road!

I am already in my 30’s, but I must admit, I still don’t know how to drive. Back in my home country, though we had a car, driving is something that is not a necessity since we have wonderful public modes of mass transit. I could go wherever I wanted without the need for car. Not to mention, I didn’t have the courage to learn while I was there.

But when I got here in the land of Uncle Sam, I know I should learn how to drive or I will get nowhere. They do have buses, but the bus stop is already far from where we live so I have no choice other than to suck it up and gather my guts and start to learn about driving. I have already started to read the state’s Driver’s Handbook in preparation for the learner’s permit examination that I will be taking soon. I am so into it that although I am nervous, I am also excited. Excited to drive and of course, excited to shop for my first car ever. Who wouldn’t be?

And though I know having a car equals more expenses like maintenance, gas, and insurance, I am ready to face them all. The husband and I are already looking into auto insurance quotes so we will know which policy will best fit our budget. We still have time to decide on that matter, but for certain, we will soon be making decisions. For now, I am still studying the ways of the highways, but pretty soon, I will be flying on them.

Russell Stover

One day before Christmas, the husband brought this home. It was a gift from his company and it was wrapped on Christmas paper and was supposed to be opened on Christmas Day. But being the chocoholic us, we couldn't wait until Christmas so we opened it and...it was gone in a heart beat. LOL.

Yum-o!

Each row was composed of different flavors of chocolates and you can see the different flavors at the back of the cover like what you see on the photo. Sorry, it's blurry so you can't really read the names.
