He’s So Thoughtful

I am munching on nacho chip now while reading about a mesh pool fence. I was starting to read about it a few minutes ago when I started craving chips. Glad the husband bought a package when he went grocery shopping on Friday afternoon. The three of us actually went grocery shopping in the morning, but we forgot to include some stuff so he went back in the afternoon and brought me a bag of nacho chips as a surprise.

I’m now done satisfying my craving. Three more chips, and I will be done, I guess. I hope! Hehe.

Get the Right Host

Nowadays, almost all things there are made easier for us. From electronics to shopping, to reading and watching shows, to booking hotels and travel, to paying bills and checking bank accounts etc. Name it, you can do each and every one of them with just the use of your fingers on a keyboard.

And not to forget, finding the best web hosting there is for your blog, either personal or business. It used to be hard to choose the best one with the many web hosting companies that offer services online. Web hosting company sell their products and services using the best sales techniques available on the marketplace, but don’t be misled. You’ll certainly get service but it may not be as excellent as claimed.

Thanks to those websites who present different web hosting companies with their ranks and ratings based on reports from those consumers who have used or tried their services its definitely easier for those people who are still choosing which web hosting to get to make an informed decision. Reviews are given as well as prices which will give you an idea which one will suit your budget best yet still get the most for your money. Isn’t that just great? It is, no doubt!

Chocolate Macaroons

We were grocery shopping for Thanksgiving when I saw these. I am such a chocolate person and macaroons are definitely one of the many sweets that I really love. So, without second thoughts, I grabbed one container and munched them with the help of my son when we arrived home. I forgot if my husband ate one. He's not so into sweets, though, he certainly loves cheesecake.

Yum-o!

Rice is Nice!

Just like last year, we are going to celebrate Christmas with my husband’s family. We will be at his brother’s on Christmas Eve and next door at his stepson’s home on Christmas Day. His wife sent us a message on Facebook today informing us what to bring. She suggested that maybe I could prepare fried rice.

I am still thinking about it because I am really not a good cook and I am afraid I might mess up. I’ve been cooking fried rice here at home, but it’s only the husband and my son who eats it. Even though it doesn’t taste good, they don’t have a choice, but to eat it. LOL.

I will ask my husband’s opinion about the suggestion once he gets home. For now, I will focus on checking for nursing uniforms for my brother. It is what he wants for Christmas so, I am going to give him his wish.

Smoked Turkey

The day before Thanksgiving, our neighbor surprised us by giving us a pack of this smoked turkey. We had it for dinner that night then, and I was surprised how good it smelled and how delicious it tasted. I am not fond of turkey, but this one tasted different. Maybe because it was smoked.

The cut was big and there's only three of us so we made two dinners out of it. We didn't have it for two consecutive nights though. We were afraid we'd start saying, "Gobble! Gobble!" if we'll do it. Hehe.

It was nowhere to be found in the fridge now, but I know that that will not be the last time that we are going to have it. Paging our neighbors! LOL.

Combat Stress through Healthy Eating

Studies show that stress could bring a lot of negative effects on our body. You might not be aware of the fact that it could also affect your eating pattern and could even result to unhealthy weight loss. A number of people who are always pre occupied with wrong or a busy schedule often experience lost of appetite or skip meals and sooner or later this habit could pose as a health risk.

The good news for those who are under a lot of stress is that there are foods that can help you combat this condition and keep you right back on the health track. Certain foods contain vitamins and nutrients that can boost the immune system and work as stress fighters. Regular intake of such could improve the condition of your mind and body and you can say goodbye to stress in no time.

So which foods should you buy on your next grocery shopping?

  1. Fresh fruits and vegetables are a rich source of Vitamin C which is regarded as a good immune booster. Remember that once stress takes a toll on your body, you would need to replenish the lost vitamins and nutrients. Prepare meals that include green vegetables such as broccoli. Also, eat fruits at least once a day in order to keep your skin looking healthy.
  2. Omega 3-Fatty Acids are known to reduce the risk of getting a heart attack. Fish is one of its main sources. We all know that stress could cause such heart failure so one of the ways to prevent it is by including fish in your diet.
  3. Iron is very important for our body. Eat foods such as red meat, poultry, cereals and green vegetables in order to increase your iron intake.
Remember that along with these healthy eating habits, you should avoid foods that can lead to stress. Stay away from alcoholic drinks and caffeine as much as possible. Also a change in lifestyle might also help you in your fight against stress.

Cute Caroling

Silver bars, silver bars. It’s Christmas time in the city. Ooops! Did I get that right? Isn’t it supposed to be “silver bells“? LOL. The three of us (my husband, my son and I) were singing Christmas carols last night while lying in bed before we finally dozed off. Silver bells was among the Christmas carols that we sang.

I’m trying to be cute today and made it silver bars instead after I read about them online. Not bad, huh? It still rhymes, doesn’t it? Teehee. Oh boy, Christmas is really in the air and it’s filling me with so much joy. It’s my favorite time of the year!

Thanksgiving Sweets

My BIL's wife is known for being excellent in the kitchen. I only heard about her skill from my husband before, but when we got here last year, I was able to sample her cooking for the first time on Thanksgiving and oh yes! There's no doubt she's really good at it. From then on, I look forward to special occasions because I know I will get to feed my tummy again with her delish dishes.

We celebrated our Thanksgiving with them once again this year. I was so adamant to feed my tummy that I only get to take photos of the desserts. And guess what? Among the desserts, it's only the cupcake that I get to eat because I didn't have room for the rest already. LOL.

I think this is pumpkin pie. See those turkeys? She's not only an excellent cook, but very creative too, huh?

My Hubby the Cook

I was reading about Houston web design when I smelt something cooking from the kitchen. I had to go out and see what it was. Well, it was my husband cooking his favorite five-cheese Texas toast for dinner. He always pairs it with his favorite soup.

I am still not hungry because I had my favorite noodle soup for snack, so I told him to eat first. Our son had his favorite corn dogs for dinner. I’ll grab me a bite as soon as my tummy needs to be fed. For now, I will continue my reading and learn.
