Quotes of Note for New Year's Savings Galore!

A couple of weeks more and mom will be renewing our car insurance once again, and all I did this morning was browse for auto insurance quotes online hoping to find something that is more affordable than the policy we currently have. There’s a lot of affordable auto insurance online; one just has to be patient enough to do the research and find it.

I did find one that I need to show to dad and mom for their approval. I still haven’t told them about it since they’ve been out of the house since this morning visiting some of our relatives and friends. I'll have to wait until later to give them a heads-up on this because the whole family will be here tonight to celebrate New Year’s Eve and to welcome 2010 in with a bang.

I’m pretty sure that they will approve of what I found because it’s exactly what they’ve been looking for. And then we can bring in the new year with not just a bang, but also by getting more bang for our hard-earned bucks.

New Year's Yummys For My Family's Tummies!

The food and treats we had on Christmas Eve were delicious and just thinking about them still makes my mouth water. And by the looks of these photos, you should be able to imagine how yummy they were. We had pork spare ribs with chili sauce, diced green vegetables, chicken lollipop, and pork rolls. And today, I am tasked to choose the food that we’ll have on New Year’s Eve. I’ve got a menu from one of the famous restaurants here in the city and I’m actually having quite a difficult time deciding what to get because I know everything is so tasty. But I will definitely include one pasta dish because that's my all-time favorite. And there will be a chocolate cake too-another of my weaknesses-and I’ll order that from our favorite bakeshop.

Try to imagine what it would be like if everyday was a holiday. We’d all gain weight for sure! But I know it’s not something to fret about because a best weight loss supplement will be there to the rescue. But, anyway, back to the list. I’m still thinking what beef, pork and fish dishes I’ll get. Care to help me? Maybe I will let my fiance’ help me decide. That sounds funny though since he won’t be able to taste them since he's half-a-world away at the moment. But he's been here before so he'd know exactly what to choose, even though we'll have to wait until next New Year's Eve to celebrate and munch together.

My Poor Ol' Tummy Has Had Too Much Yummy!

Christmas is finally over but there’s one more event to look forward to, and that’s the New Year! I can hardly wait to feast my eyes on and fill my tummy with all the sumptuous food that will be served. Do I sound like I've never had enough to eat? In fact, I’ve already been to a couple of parties this holiday season, excluding the usual Christmas Eve party my family has, and there’s one more party that I’m looking forward to aside from our party on New Year’s Eve. I’m afraid I may have to go check those treadmills soon because I might be needing one before the year ends.

Well, the season of joy and cheer, not to mention the season of good food only happens once a year so I think it won’t hurt if I indulge myself once in a while with all the calories I want. I’ll just play now and pay later when I have to burn them up on a treadmill.

Let It Snow!

It has been three days now that I haven’t been able to talk online with my fiancĂ©. After the heavy snow fall he had in his area on Friday, they're having power and phone outages and no internet connection. Good thing his cellphone provider wasn’t affected by the snow storm; otherwise, we wouldn’t have had any communication at all. He was actually stranded at work on Friday and had to stay there for 26 hours because the major highways were closed. And if not for his cellphone, he couldn’t have informed me and his daughter where in the world he was at and we would have been worried.

We really have a lot to be thankful for with the latest technology as well as those call centers that help us at in cases such as this, downed phone lines, etc. We couldn’t have been more thankful to a fulfillment company who provides those call centers with agents that are not just helpful but reliable too. I just hope they’ll continue providing their customers excellent services. They sure did the trick for us this weekend. Thanks guys!

The Shape of Things Keeps Getting Better and Better

Once upon a time it was considered a big deal for someone to even think about cosmetic surgery. But now it's really no biggy at all because it is already considered a common procedure that is often done. It's becoming more and more popular by the day due to the use of more modern state-of-the-art equipment which is updated almost every year, if not every month. Once it was only possible for the rich and famous-celebrities and such-to do this because of its high cost, but today even middle class individuals are finding it possible to make use of this enhancement because as the competition has grown, more affordable prices have been made available.

With that concept, consumers are always the winner which is how the economic system works since no business will be successful without satisfied customers who feel like they're getting a deal. But though affordable prices are now offered in some cosmetic surgery treatments, people should make sure that the company they choose to do their treatment is a reliable one since not only is their looks at stake but their safety, too.

One of the latest innovations to hit the cosmetic surgery world is the macrolane breast reshaping procedure. It’s non-invasive which is advantageous since you need not have general aesthetic nor be hospitalized for it since it can be performed as an out-patient procedure. That's good news for those who want easy and hassle-free breast augmentation.

A Magical Gift Given With Love

Eight more days to go and the joyous day will be here: Christmas! I can still remember clearly how we celebrated our Christmas last year, and our family tradition will continue this Christmas Eve with good food, fun and laughter along with many shared gifts given with love. Eight days and counting! Wow! I can’t wait for that moment but how I wish my fiancĂ© could be here to celebrate with us. And though that's disappointing, it is understandable since he's half-a-world away at the moment, and we do have next year to look forward to. But even if not here, he has already given me the sweetest gift any woman could ever ask for when he proposed to me on the anniversary of one of our special days.

Yes, that was so special. And though he hasn’t given me that Six-prong Oval Tiffany Solitaire Engagement Ring, the fact that he made the effort to get me a ring is more than enough for me. It won’t be for long though that I’ll be wearing this engagement ring because he’s already promised to get me a new one along with a set of matching wedding bands as soon as we're together forever. I can’t wait for that day to happen and I do wonder where he’s going to get them. It will be a surprise, he said, though he was open about browsing the jewelry on many online sites, including engagement and wedding rings. And knowing my fiancĂ©’s taste when it comes to jewelry, I know he'll choose wonderful rings, for sure, even though he did say he would let me help pick them out. Good boy, honey. I can already see that you're going to be a good hubby...(",)

SIL Karen's Birthday Cake

And their anniversary cake too because they were also celebrating their 5th year anniversary, December 8th since she and my brother became an item. And even though they are already married now, they still wanted to celebrate that special day. Simply great!

Karen is so into Pooh Bear so I think I don't need to explain further why it's the cake's theme. It's a chocolate moist cake and it's so yummy! I did think though that she'll get my favorite chocolate mousse since it's also her favorite but she couldn't have the design she wanted on a chocolate mousse so she ended up with the chocolate moist instead. No problem, it is still delish!

Aside from the cake, we also feasted on yummy foods but I'll blog about it soon. (",)

Protective Healthcare for Computers

Antivirus software is to a computer what a bodyguard is to a person: On-the-spot protection; a must have. Computer viruses create havoc, destroying one’s computer files. But with all the antivirus software available on the market today, whom to trust? They all claim to be one of the best, if not the best, but words are cheap.

You must do your research and check on any antivirus software before jumping to any conclusion. You must consider the facts. It should not slow down your pc; it should not only protect your pc from viruses but malwares, too; and is it is trusted by the ones who are currently using the product? So think, do your homework, and be protected not only from a cyber disease but also from the sickness you'll feel if you lose the use of your computer and all the special things you have saved on it.

I Did Drool

It was a couple days ago when I received an sms from my BA telling me that I've got to check my e-mail right away because he sent me something that would really make me drool. And this was the thing that he sent - a picture of his dinner. He really likes teasing me and yes, no doubt, I did drool!

Those sausages and mashed taters really looked yummy! I missed eating mashed potatoes! Grrr! And there's red cabbages too. I haven't tasted that one yet though but for sure, they're delish like what my BA told me. I'll get to taste that in time. (",)

A Mom's Manic Day

It’s another brand-new day but still the same-ol'-same-ol' routine. I’ll be doing the same daily duties today which include the never-ending household chores. Having the same daily routine can be boring at some point, but the good thing is that I manage to handle it and still look forward to each new day with a smile.

Yesterday was kind of different though since I got to go out and enjoy the company of my friend. We went shopping and it was fun. But that was after I was done with the chores that needed to be taken care of before anything else. And it was only yesterday, too, that I figured out that our refrigerator needs a new water filter, so going to the mall yesterday also included looking for a new one and browsing the different brands of refrigerator water filters. I haven’t seen one that’s good enough, however, so my next resort will be to look online. But that’s after I’m done with the chores again for today, as well as attending to my son’s needs. That’s how a mom’s life is: busy as can be. But no big deal! I can handle it pretty well as I believe all us moms can. Right mommies?

Party Hearty!

My sister-in-law, Karen’s 33rd birthday was a blast. Ooops, sorry for divulging your age, Sis. Well, you look younger than your age, so don’t worry about that. Besides, it is just a number. Hee hee.

We had a great time enjoying the chitchat with everybody and my little nephew Nikko’s antics kept us amused, not to mention all the sumptuous food we feasted on. My tummy was stuffed with the main course alone and I was wondering if I could still fit in a slice of that chocolate moist cake. And surprisingly, I did. LOL.

I gave Karen a book about pregnancy and child birth as a gift, perfect since she’s now four months pregnant. I wish I could have given her a vacation trip somewhere like to bahia principe punta cana in the Dominican Republic since she really needs rest and relaxation. Her migraine has been bothering her so much that she's been unable to do the things she’s used to doing everyday. But at this point in time, I couldn’t give her that much-needed vacation since I can’t afford to give her such, financially wise. But if I’d be lucky enough to win the lottery, she’ll surely have it, undoubtedly. The only problem is, I don’t even have enough money to buy lottery tickets. LOL. Oh well...sorry Sis.

I May Be Bored Now, But...

...there's always light at the end of the tunnel. It’s 4 o’clock in the afternoon in my part of the world and I feel a little bored. Nothing exciting has happened today though my day did start well. I began my day by chatting with my fiancĂ© which always makes my day bright, but sometimes unavoidable things happen in the course of the day which can bring ruin to an otherwise perfect day. It’s inevitable, I guess, or I should say it's an unfortunate part of life, one of the spices of life which aren't always of a sweet nature. But I'm human, and sometimes things just get so hard to handle. As has been said, happiness is a choice and how you view things in perspective is what makes or breaks your day.

I may be bored now and I wish I could find something to ease my boredom, like playing one of those online slot machines rvm perhaps. But I'll be okay; this will soon pass since I have something to look forward to tonight. It's my sister-in-law’s birthday and we will join her for her birthday bash. I can’t wait to have a bite of her home-made brownies again. Just thinking about it now makes me giddy and I've all of a sudden forgot about my boredom. What a day! But such is life.

"Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree..."

That's one of my favorite Christmas carols, and after having found the other parts of our old Christmas tree and straightening out the bent limbs, I was finally able to put it up last Friday. I thought we would have to buy a new one until after two days of searching I found the missing pieces. I knew I had put them all in one big box in our storage room. The problem was, dad needed the box and had one of our workers removed its contents and he didn’t re-store them properly. He just put the Christmas tree on top of our ping pong table and its base fell under the table which was full of boxes too. I finally found the base underneath one of the boxes.

Our Christmas tree is up now and though it still needs a few more ornaments, I love watching its bright and sparkling lights twinkle in the dark; that makes me giddy and excited for Christmastime. Have a Merry Christmas one and all!

Breathing A Sigh of Relief for My Dear Friend

It was on Thursday when my friend Elsie was finally discharged from the hospital. She was admitted on Sunday when her asthma reared its ugly head again, a condition that has been a life-long struggle for her, this time triggered and exacerbated by the sudden change in weather here which can go from super hot to super cool, and vice versa, in the blink of an eye.

I visited her on Tuesday and I was surprised to see her using a nebulizer. She was having difficulty breathing because her air passages were blocked by phlegm. Using the nebulizer gives her temporary relief and she uses it every four hours. She’s on IV antibiotics, but until the medicine could do its work and take effect, she still had to resort to using the nebulizer.

It's amazing that such a simple little piece of personal equipment can be such a life saver. But even more amazing was the array of medical equipment in her hospital room that the doctors and nurses used to monitor her well being and progress. It's a wonderful age of medical marvels and miracles we've been blessed with.

I saw her again on Friday, just the day after she was discharged, and I was happy to see her well and good. You go, girl! You have many more years ahead and many more roads to travel.

Light Up Your Holiday

As promised, here are the other goodies that my fiancĂ©’ and his family feasted on on Thanksgiving Day. Aside from the baked turkey which I posted here previously, the menu included the following: baked ham; mashed potatoes; fresh green beans and creamed corn; macaroni and cheese; and what Thanksgiving feast would be complete without cornbread stuffing, gravy and homemade biscuits, a southern-mountain tradition in the US. Of course, there was also cranberry sauce and assorted desserts of pecan pie, cakes and some yummy-yummy cheese cake hors d oeuvres. They enjoyed good food and family bonding on a cool autumn evening at his brother’s dining table with a Hubberton Forge chandelier illuminating their repast. It’s definitely a site to behold. I wish I could have been there to celebrate with my fiancĂ©, but hopefully come next year I’ll be there to share the experience. Fingers crossed again!

But just look at that mouth-watering food. I so love mashed potatoes, which my fiancĂ© and I have in common, and just looking at them makes me drool. Oh well, patience Lynndee. You’ll soon have your truckloads of all kinds kinds of taters, mashed, fried, and otherwise, some of which will be personally prepared by your fiancĂ©, or Big Angel. Isn’t that sweet? (“,)

Mashed Potatoes

Fresh Green Beans

Creamed Corn

The Only Time That Monday is a Fun-Day!

First, there was Black Friday, and on its heels comes Cyber Monday, the day the internet is slam-jam with people gobbling up great bargains. For a woman like me who loves shopping, those would be the happiest days of my life since I'd get to shop for great deals for two entire days. The only problem is, I still won’t be able to enjoy them until I get to my fiancĂ©’s land next year for our first holiday season together.

My fiancé, or as I lovingly call him, my Big Angel, was able to enjoy great savings on those days, and in a way, I'll get to enjoy them too since I am always #1 on his shopping list...(",) But it would be even more enjoyable if I was the one doing the shopping. Well, next year, I'll surely get to experience this shopaholic thrill! Fingers crossed!

Baked Turkey

The turkey my BA and his family feasted on on Thanksgiving Day. BA came a little late and when he arrived, the turkey was already carved as you can see in the picture. Wish he had got a picture of the whole turkey; that would have been cute. Hehe. But anyway, it still is mouth watering to look at, huh? There were still lots of goodies aside from the turkey but I'll blog about them next time.

Belated Happy Thanksgiving, BA!
