Birthday Wishes For A Special Birthday Boy

Time can really fly so fast without us knowing it. It seems like only yesterday when my first ever nephew, and the first ever grandson of my parents was born. He was named Ernyl Marc and was nicknamed Em-Em. And today, he’s celebrating his 17th birthday. Wow! Just thinking about that makes me feel old. LOL.

The family will have a little celebration tonight and I need to get my Canon camera ready to capture every moment of the affair. Such special days happen only once a year and I don’t want to miss one detail of it for the world.

Choc-O-Nut

A yummy tasting cake from Red Ribbon. I was at the mall last week to buy things for Yogi. I seldom go out and whenever i do, i make it a point to meet my friend, Elsie because that's the only time that we can hang out together. And whenever we're together, we always feed our tummies with whatever it is that we desire. For that day, she thought of having our snack at Red Ribbon. We each had this piece of Choc-O-Nut cake plus a plate of Palabok and a glass of Coke Zero. I totally forgot to take a photo of the Palabok. That's how hungry i was. LOL. But anyway, glad i was able to remember to take a photo of the cake and share it with you here. It's really yummy. Try it yourself.

Drug Problems: They Can be Helped, As Well as Fixed

I was so engrossed reading the book “Eclipse” from the Twilight Saga last night, but the headline news never fails to catch my attention. It was the thing about drug addiction again. What saddens me is the minors who are caught up into and trapped by that demon. There could have been a good future ahead for them, but because of drugs their lives have been totally ruined. Not just theirs, but their families as well. I know drug rehab can help them get back to the normal life they once had, but just the same, a lot of people have already been affected.

That is why sometimes watching the news is not in my priorities. The same news about drugs over and over, and all the other different crimes, can be annoying, if not irritating, at times. Last week I got the itch to create another website, and I’m sure you know how them itches can be. I had already thought of a theme for my personal weblog and it’s been running through my head for quite a while now, thus the itch I’ve been experiencing. I will probably get one pretty soon, as soon as I’m able to get things squared away with my last domain, that is, because for some reason I’ve had some problems with the payment of that one, which and has made me apprehensive. That’s the last thing that I want to experience again.

Anyway, I know I’ll have to start from scratch again with my new website. I have to work on the traffic, link building, etc. But I don’t have any worries about that. Bunches of Beaches to Bask On

It’s already Friday in our part of the world and I’d definitely like to say, “Thank God, it’s Friday; finally!” What a hectic week it has been and it doesn’t end today but will continue until tomorrow, at least, before all my weekly duties are done. How I wish I could unwind and have a breather. It’s been a while since I’ve had a vacation, and God knows I’ve been raring to have one. And if ever I get the chance for that much-desired vacation, there’s one place that I’ve always wanted to see: the Caribbean. I’ve always loved beaches and I know the Caribbean has some of the finest beaches in the world.

But it‘s more than the beaches that I dream of. It is my dream to experience a cruise vacation, and Caribbean cruises is no less than the best place to make my dream come true – breathing the ocean breeze while sailing along the Caribbean, and at the same time enjoying the great amenities, superb food and excellent service of such a cruise paints visions in my mind of a wondrous vacation. I wonder, though, when will that dream vacation materialize. Pretty soon, I hope, ‘cause I really can’t wait any longer, and each week it seems to take forever for TGIF to get here.

French Fries

I was busy browsing the net when mom handed me this tumbler of french fries the other day. Perfect timing because it's almost 3 o'clock that time, our snack time and i haven't had grabbed myself a bite.

My son Yogi bought one liter pack of powdered juice at the nearby store and that's what we paired with the fries. Just the right pair - cold glass of orange juice and hot fries.

The fries weren't that crispy anymore though. Maybe because about thirty minutes had already passed from the time mom bought it. But nevertheless, it's still yummylicious! (",)

A Calling To A Prosperous Future

I was in a state of contemplation yesterday and was wondering how my old colleagues have been doing. It’s been a couple of months that I haven’t heard from them. Our work was put on hold after our company had problems with our client. And up to now, the problem has not been resolved. I wonder how long we will have to wait. Only time will tell, I guess.

Anyway, I got to talk to a former officemate the other day, a co-MT. She’s planning to resign at her office, the company I once worked for, and she’s trying to get into the world of call centers and be a call center agent. It’s the most sought after job here now. More companies providing call center services are opening which means more call center agents are needed to fill the vacancies. I’ve been told many times to try to get a job as a call agent. And who knows? Maybe I will give it a shot. I still got to do much thinking about it, though. But we’ll see.

Mom's Surprise Birthday Cake

Mom's 59th birthday happened to fall during her three week vacation in Manila. She thought it would just be another ordinary day because she was away from us but little did she know that my cousin there had plan of giving her a surprise party. Mom's Home! Hurrah!

After three weeks of having a vacation and enjoying it to the fullest, mom finally arrived back home the other day. Her arrival was something the kids looked forward to because they knew mom would bring gifts for them, as she always does on returning from a journey. Well, you know kids. But fortunately, the kids weren’t the only ones who enjoyed the moment because all of us received gifts from her. We were all excited opening each of our presents wrapped in shopping bags. I got crocs slippers, as well as all the other girls. All the guys got shirts and caps and, as expected, the kids each had their requested toy.

I am really happy with what she got for me, though it wasn’t really the one that I asked for (Yeah, picky-picky, aint I?... Hee-hee-hee). I’ve been wanting to have a pair of those Dansko womens shoes but, unfortunately, mom wasn’t able to browse the mall as well as she wished to be able to find them for me. She didn’t have enough time because she was with my relatives who just arrived from the U.S. and all they wanted to do is visit the scenic spots that our country is famous for. But nonetheless, I’m still happy with what I got, and everyone is happy that she's finally back home. Thanks mom!

Fab and Unique Wedding Cake

The groom is an Airsoft enthusiast and the bride is a nurse. Instead of putting a couple all dolled up in their wedding attire on top of the cake, a man in an Airsoft gear and a woman in a nurse uniform was the choice instead. Unique, isn't it?

This was the wedding of my brother's friend and team mate in Airsoft. I don't personally know the groom so i wasn't invited. LOL. But as per my sis-in-law to be who attended the wedding with my brother, the four-layered cake was really nice and each layer has a different flavor. As you can see, the motif was a combination of pink and lavender - a lovely combination.

After a day’s work, most of us are most times in search of rest and relaxation to give our tired mind and body a break. Hungarian Sausage and A Dessert

There was an activity at Yogi's school that day so i was there since morning. Glad i had Michelle as company - a former office mate whose daughter is Yogi's classmate. We had lunch all together at this newly opened pasta restaurant near Yogi's school. She was thinking of having pasta for lunch but i can't have lunch without rice so i had this and she'd decided to have this too - Hungarian sausage with mustard. It's a little spicy but really yummy.

The owner of the restaurant is our former employer so when she saw us, she gave us this chocolate moist cake for free. What a yummy dessert we've had. Thanks boss! (",)
