Nikko's Birthday Photos

I Miss Mama!

Those three words are what i always hear from my son, Yogi lately. He's referring to my mom, his granny. Mom has been on vacation for seventeen days now to be exact. She'll be home by Monday already though and i already told Yogi about that. They've talked on the phone on Sunday for about an hour but Yogi seemed to miss her the more because of that. Maybe he's just excited with the toys mom would bring her that's why he wants his granny to go home the soonest. Hehe. He's been telling mom about transformer toys on the phone over and over again last Sunday. Hope mom will fulfill her promise or Yogi would surely whine. LOL.

It's Almost Dinner Time!

And yet i'm still here in front of the PC trying to fix things. I don't want to leave here without solving the problem with this network. My friend told me to send them an email. Well, it's not on my priority list at the moment because i've sent them a couple of emails before but there's no reply. I wonder why. I had the second one successfully submitted. What could be the problem? I also cleared my cache hoping it was it but still nothing happened. Enlighten me please!

I really thought it's not going to rain today because it was so hot this morning. So hot that i just stayed inside the house the whole day. I didn't even let Yogi bring his jacket with him only to realize that the weather is indeed unpredictable. Is there a new typhoon to hit the country again or this is just another one of those low pressures? Nevertheless, i'd prefer it this way because it's cold. It would be a problem for those people who are always in the go but since i'm only here at home most of the time... so rain, rain don't go away. LOL.

What is Their Problem?

I can't submit an opp to their website again! I've encountered this problem with them many times already. I've sent them a couple of emails before but never heard from them even once until the opp expired. So i think this will be another one of those. Oh well...

It Feels Numb

As of this moment, i can't sit to any sitting position of my choice for the simple reason that i got a shot from my Ob-Gyne yesterday and the upper right part of my butt feels numb. It is not painful but it is once hit. My son Yogi was trying to scare me this morning by attempting to touch that part and he didn't stop until i scolded him. LOL. Well, i'm scared that he'd really do it so i had to do what needs to be done and that's to scold him. Hee hee. I know this will be gone by tomorrow and i can't wait for that to happen.

Ground Pork With Pechay

I'm the official cook here at home for two weeks now since Mom's away for a vacation. For days, we've been eating fish and i felt like i want to puke already even with just the smell of it. So one time, i asked my bro to buy pork chop and ground pork. I also let him buy some veggies. I missed pechay (chinese cabbage) so it's what i used to match the ground pork. It's a very simple dish. One of those i consider an experiment that i do every now and then. I sauteed the garlic, onions and tomatoes then added the ground pork. I then put pepper and let it simmer until the pork is cooked. Then the pechay and put salt and Maggi magic sarap (my cooking isn't complete without this one) to taste. And that's it. They said it's yummy. Well, they don't have a choice, do they? LOL.

It’s been about two months now that our backyard has been used as Dad’s temporary shop for his construction projects while the documents for the proposed shop are still in process. And it’s been two months, too, that we are trying to live with all the noise produced by the equipments and tools. It can be irritating and annoying at some point, but what can we do?

And just yesterday, while one of the workers passed by the balcony, he accidentally dropped the grinder he was carrying and it hit a ceramic tile breaking it and damaging the grinder as well. She doesn't look her age at all, does she? That's my Mom and still looking young at 59. We always kid her that one more year to go and she'll be a registered member of the senior citizen's club already. But that thing isn't a big deal for her. She just laughed it off because as per her, she feels young, she's young at heart and healthy, and that's the most important thing of all.

Ride of His Life

This school year would be easier and convenient for me as compared last year for the reason that i don't have to bring and pick up my son, Yogi to and from school every single day like i used to because they already have their school bus. I'm really glad they finally have one. Yogi's classes starts at 12:00 noon and ends up at 4:30 in the afternoon. The bus arrives at around 11:00 a.m. here at home and i always see to it that he's already prepared before that time. I've been successful with that, so far.

It was last week when i felt dizzy for like two days. I was having stomach upset during that time and i was thinking that maybe that's the culprit behind it. Stretching Your Body

Then move your neck and make it rest on your left shoulder, gently stretch your neck muscles and hold for 2 seconds. Return to starting position and stretch the other side. This time, use your right hand; let your neck rest on right shoulder. Do this 5-7 times and feel your neck muscles relax... feel the tension being relieved.

Yep, it's my nephew Nikko's first birthday today and we're going to celebrate it with a dinner tonight at the same venue where we had his Christening. It'll just be a simple party with the family and some other guests - Nikko's godparents and some of my sister's close friends. I will share some pictures here soon.

Break The Habit Before You Break Your LIfe

Seeing stories about addiction gives me mixed emotions. I feel pity for the family and anger toward the addicted one. I do know that there are other individuals who are to be blamed for such a dilemma and not just the one who is suffering from the addiction. I know how a family is affected once a member is addicted to prohibited drugs because a relative of mine was into it. Mom and Aunt finally caught the plane yesterday after missing it last Friday. Funny but they did miss it after Mom got confused about the exact time of their departure. Stretching Your Creativity

Why not engage the family in a creative project? What can you do with broken plates that are too beautiful to be thrown away? Make a garden tabletop that's not only pretty but also waterproof!

Materials needed: old garden table with wooden top, rugby or any contact adhesive, regular 4x4 inch-white tiles or any leftover tiles, white cement.

First, make sure the broken plate pieces are flat enough so that these can stick well to the wood. (If not, break the plate some more.) Then make a trial design using the leftover tiles as the borders of your table. Using the broken plate pieces, make a mosaic in the middle of the table. Remember to put a little space in between the tiles. Once you are happy with your trial design, start by spreading a little rugby on the wooden surface you are working on. Then glue each piece on to the wooden surface. (Rugby or contact cement works best if you put it on both surfaces to be glued and dry it first before finally joining the two surfaces.) As a final touch, use white cement to cover the spaces in between the tiles.

Mcflurry Oreo Treat

This has been my aunt's favorite snack, not to mention her favorite as a treat whenever we asked her for some favor. My weekend wasn’t good at all. Aside from feeling blue, which I really never figured why, I also suffered from a throbbing headache which started around noon and lasted all day up into the evening. I wasn’t able to take any medicine for it because it was Sunday and the stores in the subdivision were closed, and no one was going downtown. I just took a rest, and while lying in my bed I watched this local television talk show. I wasn’t really in the mood to watch but the topic was interesting.

Home-Made Munchkins

It was time for an afternoon snack; my cousin and I can already hear our stomachs rumbling so we think of something delish to munch and we came up with this, home-made munchkins. My niece has been telling me to make some for myself because it's so easy to prepare but i've just been busy lately.

That day, my cousin offered to do it so she did all the work while I was sitting on my throne waiting for the munchkins to be ready to munch. Hehe! And yes! It was really delicious. The kids loved it! We'll do more of it again soon... as soon as i'll be able to buy the ingredients again.

Anyway, if you like to do one yourself, here's how:
You will need, 10 packs of Ace biscuits and 1 can condensed milk. Crush the biscuits, add about 3/4 cup of condensed milk and then mix. Create to any shape of your choice. Chill and serve.

This is our little bundle of joy, my cutie nephew, Nikko . He will be turning one on the 19th of this month, and up to this time my sister still hasn't make up her mind where she is going to have his party. She told me to inquire about a kiddie party package at this famous food chain. I did so this morning and gave her the details that I got but she’s yet to ask her hubby about it.

I’ve been indecisive myself as to what to give Nikko for a present, until today, that is, when I came across PeppyParents.com and saw this very cute baby jogger stroller. Waffle Time!

Whenever mom arrives from the mall, more often than not, she has some goodies bought for us. And that day, she brought us waffles. We haven't had waffles for a while so my son, Yogi was really delighted to see it. Mom only bought two, just for Yogi and me since it's only the two of us left here at home. Yogi was holding his and i was holding mine when i took this picture. He knows what his mommy has been into so he always gladly obliges whenever i took pictures of just about anything.
